During the 2024/2025 academic year, the first edition of the “Technique and Arts” Award was held, promoted by INES Ingenieros Consultores in collaboration with the Instituto San Mateo in Madrid.
The aim of this award is to highlight students’ ability to combine technical knowledge with artistic sensitivity, demonstrating how infrastructure not only serves a practical purpose but also plays a role in the social and emotional landscape in which we live.
In this first edition, dedicated to bridges, students in the final two years of secondary school submitted a total of 18 creative works in various formats: short stories, poems, paintings, songs, photographs, and scale models.
The award winners were:
- Alejandra Gadja – “One Bridge, Many Stories” (Short story)
- Beatriz Barral – “Two Worlds, One Bridge” (Painting)
- Paula Lobo – “Art Makes Me Dream” (Poem)
At INES, we want to congratulate all participants for their creativity and effort, and for reminding us that engineering can also be a form of art.
We are already preparing the second edition, for the 2025/2026 academic year, which will focus on dams as the main theme.
