Buzesti building, with 5 stories below ground level and 12 at ground level, houses office, administration and commercial spaces, restaurants, and an underground car park.

This V shaped building has two main alignments meeting at a 90º angle. The high seismicity degree of the area, together with the geometric irregularity both in plan and elevation, required by the architectural design and the city planning regulations, was a great structural challenge and required the use of stiffening elements in plan and elevation. Additionally, the architectural design required the need to minimize the use of structural elements on the main facade and maximize transparency between intermediate levels.

The horizontal structure consists of 0,25m depth reinforced concrete slabs, except for the ground floor and mezzanine, which have a depth of 0,30m. The vertical structure consists of a reinforced concrete column grid and a series of stiffening slurry walls that transfer vertical loads to the foundation while being part of the building’s anti-seismic system. This system includes a reinforced concrete structural core, interior vertical steel stiffeners and elevator shaft, as well as a set of trusses providing stiffness to the columns’ gantries.

The foundation consisted of a 1,50 m depth foundation slab serving as an under-pressure slab and floor slab of the basement no. 4.
