Due to the arrival of the High-Speed railway line to Lugo, the Spanish Railway Administration (ADIF), needs to undertake a refurbishment of the existing station. In addition to the remodelling works, a new intermodal station will be created together with the participation of other regional public administrations. The new station will integrate the train services with other urban and interurban transportation.

This Project contemplates a global action on the surroundings of the current railway that includes the following elements:

– New passenger building with a new path under the different platforms
– New pedestrian path that will connect the city on both sides of the new station
– Construction of a new underground car park for passenger
– Adaptation of the existing canopies to the future needs of the station
– Demolition of several existing warehouses and buildings
– Removal of unused tracks

The project is built on a construction process that requires the station not to stop its activity during the duration of the works.
