Hugo Morán, the Secretary of State for the Environment, has visited the reconstruction works of the Picadas-Toledo pipeline, designed by INES. He was accompanied by the Councilor of Sustainable Development of Castilla-La Mancha, Mercedes Gómez, the President of the Tajo Hydrographic Confederation, Antonio Yáñez, the Director of the Water Agency of Castilla-La Mancha, Mercedes Echegaray, the Director of Water Infrastructures of Castilla-La Mancha, Silvia Díaz, and the Mayor of Aldea del Fresno, Alberto Plaza.
The Secretary of State emphasized that the construction of the new structure responds to the emergency situation, providing a definitive and robust solution to possible extreme events similar to the one that occurred and guaranteeing the supply to more than 50,000 people. The Councilor described the action as a very complex technical engineering solution, in record time.
