The works, promoted by ADIF and awarded to IMESAPI, focus on the necessary actions for the structural rehabilitation of the viaduct, aimed at improving the durability conditions of the infrastructure and repairing the areas affected by corrosion, leaks and other deterioration of the materials.

Built in the 1930s over the Esla River in Zamora, this viaduct symbolises the technological progress of its time and stands as a testimony to ingenuity and innovation in the construction of infrastructures. This work of Spanish Civil Engineering stands out not only for its impressive 210-metre central arch, designed by Eduardo Torroja, but also for its value as historical heritage and as an example of the advanced technology of its time. Its preservation is fundamental, requiring the use of advanced techniques in protection against corrosion and deterioration of concrete, such as various types of migratory inhibitors, consolidants and other protection products specifically adapted for this work, as well as a series of special means of access.

Over the next 16 months, INES will continue to provide technical support to the work, providing the necessary means to ensure its functionality, improve the durability of the structure and preserve its heritage value.
